Everything a domain needs, included

No add-ons to tick at checkout. Every domain you register or transfer to VirexNode comes with the essentials as standard.

  • Registered in your name

The domain is legally yours. We register it with you as the owner, and you can move it whenever you like.

  • Free DNS management

Add and edit A, CNAME, MX and TXT records from your dashboard, at no extra cost.

  • Privacy for your details

Your name, address and phone number are hidden from public WHOIS lookups.

  • Locked against theft

A transfer lock stops anyone moving your domain away. You can switch it off yourself when you need to.

  • Same price to renew

No cheap first year followed by a price hike. What you pay to register is what you pay to renew.

  • Ready for your website

Order a domain with hosting and we point it at your site for you, ready for free SSL.

Domain prices

Per year, excluding VAT. Renewals cost the same, and a transfer includes a year’s renewal.

Move your domain to VirexNode

Transfer a domain you own elsewhere and keep every day you’ve paid for. The transfer adds a year on top, at the same price as a renewal.

  • Your website keeps working while it moves
  • Free DNS management once it arrives
  • No fee if you ever move it away again
Transfer a domain

How a transfer works

Most transfers finish within 5 to 7 days, and .uk domains within a day.

  1. Unlock it at your current registrarTurn off the transfer lock and ask for the transfer (EPP) code. For .uk, ask them to change the IPS tag to ENOM instead.

  2. Order the transfer hereEnter the domain and its code, then check out.

  3. Approve it if you’re askedYour current registrar may email you to confirm. Approving speeds things up.

  4. Manage it from your dashboardWe email you when it arrives. Its DNS records stay as they were.

Domain questions

Straight answers about owning, renewing and moving a domain with VirexNode.

Ask our team
Who owns a domain I register with VirexNode?

You do. We register every domain in your name, as the registrant, so it is legally yours. You can move it to another provider whenever you like, and we never charge to transfer away.

Will my name and address be public?

No. Your personal details are hidden from public WHOIS lookups. On most endings you can also add WHOIS privacy for free when you order, which shows a privacy service's details instead of yours. The registry still holds your details, and they must be accurate, because a registry can suspend a domain with false details.

Do I need hosting to buy a domain?

No. You can register a domain on its own and point it anywhere, or add VirexNode hosting later. If you order both together, we point the domain at your hosting for you.

What happens when my domain is due to renew?

Automatic renewal is on by default. We email you an invoice 30 days before the renewal date and reminders after that, and the price is the same as when you registered. You can turn automatic renewal off in your dashboard.

How long does a domain transfer take?

Most transfers finish within 5 to 7 days. A .uk domain moves within a day once your current registrar changes its IPS tag to ENOM. Your website keeps working while it moves.

Can I use a domain I bought somewhere else with your hosting?

Yes. Choose “Use a domain I already own” when you order hosting. Your domain stays where it is, and we email you the IP address to point its DNS records at.

Need hosting for your domain?

Order a plan with your domain and we’ll point it at your website for you. Get 50% off your first month.
